How the elections work

The Electoral Reform Society is a democratic organisation and our Council is elected by our members every two years.

The new Council are elected by a ballot of all members held under the Single Transferable Vote (STV). The election has been independently administered by Electoral Reform Services Ltd (www.erbs.co.uk) and the Returning Officer is Director of Opperations at ERS; Kate West.

The ballot closed at 5pm on 26 August and the result will be announced on this site on Tuesday 26 August. The newly elected Council members take office at the close of the Annual General Meeting (AGM) in London on 3 September 2011.
