The Electoral Reform Society has welcomed news of a convincing vote in the Commons in favour of a referendum on the Alternative Vote.
MPs voted 365 votes to 187 in favour of supporting the proposed amendment to the the Constitutional Reform bill. The Bill now faces further tests in the Lords.
