Stagnating wages, a housing crisis, an ageing population, climate change, increasing job insecurity, decreasing equality, more power in the hands of Westminster, less power in the hands of communities, spiralling student debt, an NHS and public services crippled by underfunding, dirty money controlling our politics…
While Westminster’s attention has been fixated on Brexit since that fateful vote in June 2016, the UK is facing systemic changes and challenges that aren’t going to go away with wishful thinking.
We’ve yet to take a step and ask what we want for society now, and for future generations to come. Systemic challenges need to be met with radical solutions, so we need to tackle head first the big problems facing our society with big solutions.
This event will see panellists will pitch the one big idea that they think would shape the future of Britain for the better. But that’s just the start of the conversation – we’ll be inviting audience participants to have a go at pitching their one big idea.
Let’s not write off a generation – let’s turn to the big idea that can change the face of the UK.
